FAQ 

Q: Can I plug my CPAP into an extension cord or power strip?

A: No, the CPAP machine should always be plugged directly into the wall outlet.

 

Q: How can I wash my mask?

A: Most masks and cushions can be washed in warm, soapy water, or cleaned with CPAP mask wipes that you may get from Norco. Watch the corresponding video above for cleaning instructions for your specific mask, or consult your respiratory therapist.

 

Q: Do I have to use distilled water in my humidifier?

A: Most PAP manufacturers do recommend the use of distilled water as it tends to maximize the life of the equipment. If you do not have access to distilled water, you can use tap water. It is important to understand, however, your lungs will be directly exposed to the water placed in the humidifier. Using clean water and washing your humidifier on a regular basis is crucial to keeping your lungs healthy. If you do not trust the water to drink, it is probably best not to use it. The best alternatives include mineral water, spring water, deionized water, and osmosis purified water.

 

Q: Can I exchange my mask?

A: We typically allow for mask exchanges within the first 30 days of your therapy use. Be sure to give your mask a few days to adjust to the therapy before deciding to try a different mask. Contact us any time if you are experiencing mask fit issues, and we can help you adjust or talk you through a mask exchange.

 

Q: What if I want to switch masks after 30 days?

A: You can purchase a new style of mask, but it will typically be at your own out-of-pocket expense.
